St Margaret’s Hospice Care is looking for enthusiastic people to bring their passion to the heart of our organisation. Please note this is a voluntary role.
We’d love you to join us! We are looking for General Fundraising Volunteers to help at our fundraising activities and events across Somerset.

Time commitment
- Receive regular events listings via email from our Fundraising Team, and decide where, when and for how long you’d like to help out – the choice is yours!
Brief description of main tasks and activities
- Serving refreshments at events including tea, coffee, and cakes
- Assisting and sourcing prizes and gifts for raffles, auctions etc
- Helping with the sale of raffle tickets, merchandise etc. at events
- Assisting with stewarding or marshalling at events
- Helping with the set up and pack down of an event
- Promoting the hospice’s upcoming events and information in your local area by displaying posters in local shops, libraries, village halls, GP surgeries etc
- Carrying out admin duties such as filing, mailing, carrying out research, follow up phone calls etc. (induction and training will be provided for office-based roles)
- To act as an ambassador for St Margaret’s Hospice Care.
You do not need any specific experience or qualifications to carry out the role of a General Fundraising Volunteer, but the role may be suitable for you if you:
- Enjoy meeting new people
- Are happy to travel across Somerset
- Enjoy variety and flexible volunteering
- Are keen to support, raise funds and the profile of St Margaret’s Hospice Care, supporting people who are living with a life-limiting illness
- Are willing to represent the hospice and wear branded uniform, while volunteering.
