Thank you for choosing to donate your pre-loved and high-quality items to St Margaret’s Hospice Care’s charity shops. Your donations are what keeps our retail business going each year, and means we can re-cycle, re-purpose and re-home your items and raise vital funds for our hospice care in Somerset. Thank you.
Take a look through our FAQs for donating your items to St Margaret's…
We accept all good quality, clean items such as clothing and shoes, fabrics, toys and games, homeware, books and more! If you’re unsure about your donations, please contact your local St Margaret’s Hospice Shop.
All our 31 shops accept donations of clothing, bric-a-brac and smaller items; however, not all our shops have the space to accept furniture. Call 01823 353781 to find out where you can donate your furniture, or to see if a free furniture collection can be arranged.
Please click here to check the shop opening hours before taking a trip to drop off your donations.
If you are donating bulky items or furniture, please ring the shop you would like to donate to ahead of time, to ensure someone will be there to assist you with unloading your items. Otherwise, we ask kindly if you can bring some extra support with you to assist with any manoeuvring of your items.
Thank you for donating to our charity shops and supporting St Margaret’s.

Do you have any spare foreign currency lying around that you don’t know what to do with? Did you know that your leftover holiday change and old UK coins and notes are a good way of raising valuable funds for St Margaret’s Hospice?
We have partnered with Cash4Coins, an organisation that works with charities and good causes to help raise money by collecting and disposing of old unwanted foreign currency, in exchange for sterling donations.
Where do I donate foreign currency?
Most of our shops now have a designated Cash4Coins pot in store for you to donate your foreign currency. Find your nearest St Margaret’s shop here. Please only dispose of your foreign currency; if you would like to give a sterling donation, please use our St Margaret’s fundraising collection tins supplied.
Please note that it is not possible for us to acknowledge individual foreign currency donations that we receive. All donations will be collected and the hospice will then receive a lump sum from Cash4Coins.
What foreign currency can I donate?
- All old British, Irish, Channel Islands and Scottish from Farthings to Crowns
- Current and obsolete banknotes such as Spanish, German, Austrian, etc.
- Current and obsolete coins
- Even coins that can no longer be exchanged are still bought by weight – nothing is wasted.
What are you waiting for? Donate your unwanted currency today and make a difference to your local community.
