The St Margaret’s Hospice Advice Line is here to provide specialist palliative care advice and support to patients, carers, families, and healthcare professionals. Whether you have questions or need guidance, experienced palliative care nurses are ready to help.
Who can use our Advice Line?
- You can call for yourself or on behalf of another person
- You don’t need to be known to St Margaret’s Hospice
- The person in question must be registered with a Somerset GP
- They must have a life-limiting illness.
Your privacy matters to us. All calls to our Advice Line are handled confidentially, and your data will only be shared with those directly involved in your care and support. For more details, please review our Privacy Policy.

- If the line is busy, you may need to leave a message. Rest assured; we’ll get back to you as soon as possible
- For urgent medical assistance, please call 999
- For less urgent needs, contact 111 or your District Nursing team if they are involved in the person’s care
- Calls to and from our out-of-hours Advice Line are recorded for training and quality purposes.
